ABOUT COUPLINGS AND LOCKING DEVICES
InterAlia offer couplings, over load couplings and shaft and hub locking
devices from the German company
KBK. KBK
deliver the highest quality to low cost. Quick shipping and the
possibility for customization are other reasons for chosing couplings
and locking devices from KBK.
WHERE ARE COUPLINGS AND LOCKING DEVICES USED?
Couplings and locking devices are used to connect shafts to each other.
It can be to connect the motor shaft to the shaft of the object the
motor should drive or to join to shafts of the same or different
diameter. Couplings can contrary to locking devices also offer more
functionality than just to connect shafts to each other. They can
compensate for misalignments between the shafts or/and stop vibrations
to spread through the shafts. But couplings can also incorporate over
load protection which disconnects the driving force at over load
condistions to protect the equipment. KBK product portfolio consists of
the following types of couplings and locking devices:
• Metal belows couplings
• Over load couplings
• Servo couplings
• Intermediate shafts
• Locking devices
CUSTOMIZATION
InterAlia can customize the couplings according to your needs or help

METAL BELOW COUPLINGS
Metal below couplings are used in many places due to their high
torsional stifness and flexibility and also in applications where high
torques needs to be transmitted with zero play. At the same time they
can compensate for any misalignment bewteen the input and output shaft.

OVER LOAD COUPLINGS
Over load couplings offer extremily fast reaction times
(milliseconds) which means that the driving force is disconnected almost
instantaneously. They offer a safe method to protect both persons and
equipment and reduce off time and repair costs to a minimum. Further
they are insensitive to temperature changes and grease and lubricants do
not change the function. The release torque is adjustable and at the set
torque the coupling imediately disconnects the force. When the torque
falls under the set level the coupling will start to work again
automatically.
• All over load couplings can be delivered in different length.
• Couplings available for shaft diameters from 6 – 90 mm! Inch versions
also available.
• Versions with shafts as option.
• Different torque ranges available for all types.

SERVO COUPLINGS
Servo couplings has an elastic and play free transmission which reduce
vibrations that allows a servo motor system to perform at the
highest accuracy and with the maximum dynamic responce. |

vibrations

INTERMEDIATE SHAFTS
Intermediate shafts has couplings in the ends and are used to
connect one or several units to the same transmission line.
Lengths up to three meter are standard and the shafts comes in
different diameters to cover torques up to 500 Nm. There are two
types of shafts, either with metal belows coupling (DRB) or with
servo coupling (DRE). |
|
DRB
• Intermediate shafts with metal belows couplings
• Shaft and hubs in aluminium
• Belows in stainless steel. |
 |
|
DRE
• Intermediate shafts with servo couplings that reduce
vibrations
• Shaft in aluminium
• Hubs in aluminium or stainless steel. |
 |
LOCKING DEVICES
Locking devices are used to join shafts or hubs to other shafts and
hubs with a connection that are play free and can transmitt high torques.
Conical elements makes the connection between drive shafts, internediate
shafts, belt wheels, gear boxes and chain wheels. Simple and quick
mounting means low comissioning costs.
